Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation and Healing Centre is continuing to provide training and employment opportunities for Arrernte people.

Our new batch of cadets and trainees have started working with the Akeyulerre Healing Centre in Mparntwe under the Community Development Program (CDP). Employed by Akeyulerre with support from the National Indigenous Australians Agency’s NIAA’s CDP program, the 19 cadets and trainees’ will work in Akeyulerre’s Healing enterprise – Interrentye Bush Products - harvesting native plants, manufacturing our medicinal bush rubs and selling them from our store and our new Akeyulerre website.

Akeyulerre Chairperson Vanessa Davis says: "Our commitment to fostering economic participation and cultural well-being among First Nations people is at the heart of this project. By creating meaningful employment opportunities and supporting the cultural aspirations of our communities, we are investing in a stronger, more resilient future for all."

As well as our Interrentye enterprise trainees, other trainees are working in our Youth Services Program and our Repairs and Maintenance Service. Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation CEO Marli Banks says "This initiative represents a significant step towards empowering individuals and communities through skills
development and employment pathways. Together with the support of the National Indigenous Australians Agency, we are building a program that reflects the unique strengths and potential of our people, creating lasting benefits for generations to come."
